How to connect switch to PC (FS2004)?

Featured Replies

Hello all, very thanks for all comments given in here, I appriciate that. At this moment, for the simple picture of the "L", I understand it has te be like:+ -- USB -- Switch -- keyboard -- - (via keyboard)?Cause maybe a stupid question, but how volts are on a USB cable? And can somebody confirm that this is the correct way to connect? Thanks,Maurice

Hi Maurice,I don't understand your diagram, but you either use a "keyboard emulation" circuit (we discussed many options here), a keyboard or a USB joystick. The switch does NOT connect to the USB port directly!Regardless, a PC USB port supplies 5V at 500mA/port (MAX). Non-powered USB hubs do not usually support more than a few mA so don't even think of connecting anytthing which requires real power there (not even a Webcam).
