Real Boeing switches

Just $1500?? Wow. Are you nuts? :-)//T

I would imagine so, but you could rig something up...i know someone has and it involves a solenoid and an electrical magnet. I think the solenoid is always on, powering a magnet. When you turn the switch to ground, the solenoid powered magnet then holds onto the switch. The solenoid acts as a light would, being turned ON always and toggled off then back on when the engines are actually running, allowing the switch to proceed to the off position.Anyone have pics or links cuz I can't remember where I saw this. Something is tugging at FDS forums, but I can't find the post.

Bob Reed at IFSBI would know whow this works, he's got it working.

Thanks !Got this by mail :The switches have 5 main terminals marked 1-5, plus 2 contacts (X1 and X2) for the integrated solenoid. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 for the switch positioning. The 4 positions from left, running clockwise are: GRD, OFF, CONT, FLT To control the integrated solenoid use a 24v DC power supply activated using a relay when the switch is turned to the ground position. Regards,Faro

Faro,I have these same switches interfaced to PMSystems via IOCards. Works perfectly. I use 5v outputs from IOCards to control relays. PMsystems sets the correct FSUIPC offset back to the 'OFF' position when N2 hits 56%.I also have an extra set of these Cole switches for sale - exactly the same as the listing on Ebay. The last 2 sets I've sold for around $700 for the pair - they were the slightly older Eaton variety from a 200 series, but exactly the same in form and function (they were silver instead of blue!!!). I was a little surprised to see $1500 as the current bid (looks like that is the starting bid). New these switches are around $1600 each.I have already promised these switches to another buyer. If they decide not to buy then I will let ppl know.Regards

http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...18383&mode=fullNo wonder I wasn't finding it, I was searching the wrong forum.Solenoid, spring and rotary arm and its ingenius. Not to mention after you successfully get the setup working, can use it on many other switches too, such as autobrake panel.Maybe save some $$$ for our fellow flightdeckbuilders out there...
