March 21, 200719 yr Hi,I'm wondering if anyone has used a large screen TV for the outside views. I have the opportunity to use one but do not know how to hook it up or whether there are problems with displays etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use the PMDG 737.ThanksRob
March 21, 200719 yr Hi Rob,I have never tied what you are asking but here are some issues to consider.- Are you referring to a 52" LCD screen or 52" large screen (CRT based) projection TV? I can't tell from the subject title and narrative in your post. There is a difference in the two. - Most CRT based large screen TV's (non-HDTV) do not have VGA input. Only composite video, s-video, and component video. Those are in order of picture quality. Your computer's video card would need to have one of those type outputs. NTSC maximun is only 525 lines of resolution. A normal 17" LCD in 4:3, is 1024x768. So actually a TV is displaying less resolution than a computer monitor set at 800x600.- CRT large screen TV's have interlaced scanning and LCD screen have progressive scanning. Progressive is much better. - Depending upon how far you will be from the screen, scanning lines (interlaced) will be visible in the large screen TV.From what I recall, others have tried this in the past and were not satisified with displaying a computer image on a TV screen. However, if you have a 52" LCD monitor, I think you would be very happy with the image. If I have written something in error I hope someone will please make the correction. Regards,Richard
