Well it has finally happened! My MS Sidewinder is dead after four years of hard work :(I would like to get a yoke now... but have NO CLUE which ones are good. All I see is CH banners... are there anymore? How about throttles... are they worth getting? How much am I looking to spend on this stuff? I have been using the CH Yoke and rudder pedals for a couple of years. Now, being graced with a CompUSA gift card for my birthday, I am contemplating upgrading to the new CH with the mixture/prop controls. Question... USB or gameport. I know I can't mix the gameport pedals with USB yoke, so both are gameport now. If I am replacing both, should I go with gameport or USB? Any performance difference? Both work well in FS2K2? Thanks!EddieKSLC

Well, I think I'm the only one here who didn't like the CH Yoke. I broke down and bought a PFC Cirrus Mooney Yolk. It seems expensive but here are a few things to remember:Lifetime warranty - it will be around when you are flying MSFS2010 on an Intel P8 7gig rig (that will still be too slow to fly with all the sliders maxed...!)Accuracy: The CH Yolk feels like a pole with a slinky wrapped around it - the resistance is inconsistent, especially for small adjustments to flight. The PFC yolk has very consistent resistance and is very responsive to small inputs. I couldn't land anything consistently until I bought the PFC yolk.Reality check: Folks spend thousands of dollars on their computer rigs, often ignoring controls. Nothing, has increased my enjoyment of computer flying more than the yolk. My $.02.Colin

Couldn't agree more. I bought the AETI AFCS yoke, and am very happy with it. If I had to buy another yoke, I would buy it again.Matt

After 20 years of using joysticks, and seeing as the other yokes are too pricey for me right now, I decided what the heck....13 bucks. Actually i'm pretty impressed(received Friday)with the product. I cannot compare to others since I've never tryed them but first impressions are it's not quite a "you get what you pay for" deal. It does not have a trim switch, though i've compensated by just assigning the 2 right side buttons for trim(joystick hat trim switch doesn't work properly with fs2k2 anyway, unless there's been a fix somewhere). It does take some tweaking to get working decently but i'm sure that goes with any controller and for me it's still a work in progress. All in all i'm very happy with it and having a yoke now definitely has added a new dimension to my FS experience. If it should break next week, what the hey, I'm out $17(shipped)and i've got a great shell to build one of my own.Now Mr. Cheapskate(me)is going to try to BUILD a nice set of rudder pedals.FYI....I believe I read that the manufacturer(yoke)is no longer in business. Take that for what it's worth.

Well thanks alot Colin! Your logic is going to cost me now. I have spent so much on processor/memory/vid card updates and go cheap on the most important piece. OK, so I am going to take the plunge. BUT, I'm torn between the AETI and PFC Yokes. I like the look of the AETI better, with the sleek box, but they never show the throttle control. The PFC box seems bulkier. Also, while I can justify $500 for a yoke, I can't for $500 rudder pedals. So I want to keep my CH pedals. Now, I know the AETI will accept gameport rudders... will the PFC? Any pluses or minuses on either? I doubt, as uncommon as $500 "joysticks" are, that anyone has used both and could choose. So, as much info as you can would be a great help. Thanks!Eddie

There's a picture of the AETI Throttle here. http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/review/afcs.htmI use the yoke with the throttle, all connected to my CH gameport rudder pedals. Everything works great. If using XP, you have to get the right drivers from CH's website. The only problem I have had with the yoke, is that one of the C-Clamps stopped working right. It will tighten fine, but when I try to take it off, it basically screws out of the clamp. Kind of hard to picture, I guess. It's not really a big deal, as it still holds tight. I just have to loosen it up, then pull it off. Not enough to keep me from loving it! ;-)Matt
