However, as shown above, MetroAir will be providing a scaled up service to LAX in direct competition with the majors.Another transfer of service has taken place in Toronto; MetroAir is now able to fly into Toronto Island Airport (YTZ), bringing you to the centre of Toronto FOUR times daily! As a result service has been dropped at Peason Intl. In a telephone interview COO Stuart Johnston stated: "The airline is excited by the move; making use of our versatile Dash-8 aircraft, we are now able to offer a high quality, convenient and frequent service right to the heart of the city."Service has been reduced at Gary, IN, a low-cost satellite base for the airline serving the Southern Chicago area, in order to boost its presence at Midway, much closer to downtown Chicago. CEO Mark McCoy: "We have seen that our customers require convenience as much as they want low fares. The opportunity of flying into a low-cost convenient airport simply could not pass us by, and we look forward to maintaining a great service that rivals the best in North America."Following the recent announcement of MetroAir's purchase of five Boeing 767-200s, service to Los Angeles and subsequently San Francisco will commence during the next month. Additional destinations served by the 767s will be announced shortly. You can view the schedules here, where you will find an updated route map soon.
