  1. Cheers guys! Tempting! Time's a little short though these days and I've got 10-15 Posky 777-300s sitting on my HD awaiting completion and release which I should probably do first...
  2. Cheers! Good to keep painting now and then. Actually got a huge backlog of unreleased paints (OS 777 plus a few more); it's just a lot of hassle getting them packaged...
  3. Thanks for the kind words guys! It only applies to the A340-500 / A340-600 (CLS's first Airbus release). I believe Missi modelled both although the CLS version of course has some enhancements and an improved VC. In general for those models you can use the texture folders interchangeably between CLS / Overland folders.
  4. Hi all, Haven't posted here probably for a couple of years now - a few shots of a new paint for the CLS A340-600 / Overland SMS A340-600 now in the AVSIM library (download here):
  5. Messing around with the Overland paintkit tonight...
  6. Keep coming back to the Overland 744 model...WIP paint.
  7. Yeah I really should get round to releasing those! They're basically done...
  8. Thanks Mike.Now available for download: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=159936
  9. Thanks very much guys! Hoping to release tonight...
  10. Thanks guys. FS9, Project Airbus.
  11. A couple of bits still to fix...
  12. Great shots, Sheldon - definitely a motivation to get these finished and out the door...
  13. Yup - definitely not a screen. A couple of higher res shots now on a.net:http://bit.ly/cStkxi
  14. I was lucky enough to experience the A380 for myself this weekend, hopping over to Paris on the first A380 operated AF1981 flight on Saturday and returning on Monday. I couldn't get over how quiet she was. Seat 85B outbound (upper deck) and 51L on the return (right at the back downstairs). Here are some shots currently in the a.net queue:And another that doesn't have the quality but shows off the spoilers during quite a rapid descent:
  15. I must admit I don't know how to get around the problem; that said, airliners.net themselves will usually take measures to prevent hotlinking, at least in my experience.
  16. Genuine question - is it necessary to block links to the site altogether? The issue at hand surely is hotlinking, which can be dealt with separately unless I'm mistaken. Airliners.net is (arguably) such a useful resource; not just photos but forum posts too. Any way around this, gents?

  18. http://www.metroairvirtual.com/files/sigs/newsdesk_nc.jpg-----------------------------http://www.metroairvirtual.com/files/TomC/...o_comb_logo.pngAs our long-awaited first A330-200 enters service next week, I'm excited to make a bit of a different announcement: MetroAir is offering a customised version of the Overland A330 model (http://www.overland.co.jp/english/sms/w-airlines.html]) for all its pilots! Overland have created a huge array of quality airliner models; if you're looking for a large number of high-quality models, the Boeing and Airbus packs they've created are widely considered the best value for money payware addons.Overland themselves will soon be releasing an update to their packs; various fixes have been made, they are now 100% FSX-compatible, and there are a few enhancements too. As a marketing drive for the new models, MetroAir pilots are now exclusively offered a stand-alone A330-200 package free of charge. The package includes the model, full panel, and textures.http://www.metroairvirtual.com/files/TomC/.../met_kiad_2.jpghttp://www.metroairvirtual.com/files/TomC/...2_met_test1.jpghttp://www.metroairvirtual.com/files/TomC/..._a332_del_4.jpgThe package will only be available to pilots who have been with MetroAir for more than one month.Click here to find out more about the Overland products:http://secure.simmarket.com/default.php?manufacturers_id=160**IMPORTANT** The distribution of this package is HIGHLY restricted. Do not under any circumstances distribute this aircraft to other users; only eligible MetroAir pilots will be allowed to download the model. MetroAir takes software piracy very seriously.
  19. "The funny thing is when we googled the Simmers Sky repaint kit just last week, we bumped into Tom's repaints on IFDG's forum and decided to take Tom head on in the Overland/SMS A380 repaint area. Call it 'healthy competition', call it whatever you like."I don't compete against others when it comes to painting; I enjoy painting in my own particular style that if others happen to enjoy then it's a bonus. I acknowledge that we all have different philosophies when it comes to shadowing, shine & reflections etc; my belief is that FS is inadequate in shading etc and so I like to try and substitute that with static effects. Ideal? No, but when FS builds a better graphics engine I'll start simplifying my paints.
  20. Zach,Whilst I don't refute that the tail shown in the paintkit preview is different to mine altogether, it's the tail in the shots themselves that is totally different in most respects (apart from the scratch layers) to what you've got on the paintkit there. I think there's some back-tracking going on here as those shots themselves are showing my tail with some scratch layers on top. Further proof; look at the shadowing, again present on both my tail and your screenshots but not on your paintkit:http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/9731/tailcompare2pi0.jpgLook again at the colour of the SIA logo too ;)One other thing - on your "base textures" preview in the image above the SIA logo has clearly been hastily pasted on top of all the other layers rather than sitting below.I think we can all agree this is getting a little boring now; it's just a tail after all. I'm just asking that you don't use my work and I wish "McPhat Studios" all the best with your future paints. The rest of this paint (i.e. the fuselage etc) is done really nicely so I'm looking forward to giving her a go. That's just what makes it so surprising that you resorted to using my tail when you guys have the skill to do it yourselves...
  21. Sorry Karen, but that's clearly my tail with your own effects added on...http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c36/tomc...ipoff_proof.jpgPoint 1: The orange strip at the rear is far closer in colour to mine than yours.Point 2: There is a line of shadow present on both my paintkit and the paint you're showing us, but not on your paintkit. See how it runs through the SIA logo.Point 3: That same stripe is evident further down, enforcing my second point. In general too, the logo I've used is of a much closer colour to what you're showing there, and again unlike what you have on the paintkit. Demetris - in terms of source photos it's a moot point as mine's hand-painted and the logo's from brandsoftheworld. My effects layers have come from photos I took in September in Death Valley, California, off the Pearblossom Highway. Furthermore there's a shadow running light at the front to dark at the rear that again is present on my tail but not on your paintkit preview, yet is present on the tail in the screenshot. This isn't an in-game FS effect as you'd see that on the Air Berlin tail behind if it were. It's clear to me, Karen, that you've used my paint as a base over which to paint your own, which surprises me because it doesn't seem you need to do that sort of thing as you're already proving yourself to be a great painter. I wasn't convinced at first that you'd done this but now I certainly am after closer inspection.Staggerwing - if you feel it necessary to remove the image I've posted, please could you leave a link to it so that the URL can be copied and pasted - thanks.
  22. The more I look at those shots, the more I suspect my the tail from my SQ paint was used as a base for yours. Sincere apologies if I'm incorrect about that but there's a more than striking resemblance.
