December 6, 200619 yr I know I posted yesterday on this a little, but after some of the messages I got I wanted to make things more clear as far as our openings are concerned at TexAir. PILOTS: We need pilots badly, so we've started a "Pilot Drive." What this means is anybody who signs up as a TexAir pilot between now and the time that all of our aircraft are airborne (most likely next week sometime) will be started at the position of "Captain." This gives them the ability to fly all of our aircraft up to the B737-700. We have many different aircraft, too. They're all jets at this time, but they range from a little CRJ-200 to a huge DC 10-40. Of course a lot of them are still grounded for painting, but like I said, it should be next week sometime that they will all be flying. Another concern seems to be our name, or the "Tex" part of it. Yes, we're based in Texas (KAUS & KSAT are our hubs), and yes, we fly to almost every airport in the state. However, we also have full service to thirty major airports across the USA with the intentions to expand not only nationally, but internationally as well. Transferability is another big question asked. We will transfer up to 100 hours from another VA if you can link us to the evidence (that's standard procedure, too, not just for the drive). We've also just become an official partner with the Houston ARTCC which controls both of our hubs, and we will be recognized by VATSIM in three months. Pilots are currently on an honors system for promotions and are promoted by the amount of hours they have. MANAGEMENT: TexAir has openings for two Hub Captains (KAUS & KSAT). They need to be heavily experienced, preferrably with previous VA management. We're also looking for two Checkride Captains (also with lots of experience) who can help get a Pilot Promotion System operating and then keep it operating. Then we need a Resident Repainter/Fleet Manager to make our fleet go from "good" to "great." I've been doing the repaints and though I've found something I'm happy with, I could always use a true artist's eye. Transferability for management positions is superb-we will transfer up to 1000 VA pilot hours (if you can provide the evidence of them). If you think you might be interested in doing any of this, please feel free to visit our website: http://texairva.tripod.com Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing some applications!
