March 28, 200719 yr In order to accomodate our new fully international schedule and the addition of our hub at Denver, TexAir has recently made a great expansion to its fleet. Our pilot ranks are directly related to aircraft categories. Previously, some aircraft CATs had one aircraft and others had two, making it somwehat unfair to different pilots. We have changed that to where all of the CATs have an equal number of aircraft.Because of this, we've also split our aircraft into three different divisions:"Texpress!" is our commuter line and features the Embraer 120 and the De Havilland Dash 8-200. We have an extremely large amount of commuter routes from all of our hubs, particularly in Texas. We may just have the most commuter & regional routes in Texas. After all, look at our name."Tex Express" is our regional line and features the CRJ-200 and CRJ-700. And of course, "TexAir" is our main line featuring the MD-83, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 757-200, and the Boeing 767-300. We've recently added our first payware textures for the B737NG from PMDG. This features our brand new Cactus livery. Also added recently is the B752. It also features the new Cactus livery.http://www.texairvirtual.org/images/b752.jpgB757-200Two more additions are on the way as well including the B717-200 and the B737-300. Due to the arrival of our new aircraft, our schedule has been modified to allow pilots to select which aircraft they will fly on a flight (as according to a specified category/rank). We've also removed scheduled times to allow the pilot to select when a flight is flown.Other new things are happening as well. We plan to launch our new, fully automated and customized Pirep/Roster system very soon. It will include many more features than our current system has. We're also looking to expand into the cargo business. Work is underway for that. Finally, we are in the process of testing and implementing a quality checkride system. This will feature either written exams or actual checkrides, possibly both. Preliminary testing has already begun. Also, if anyone is looking to work in a management position, we currently have an opening for a Hub Captain at Denver. Applicants may go to our website (link below) and visit the "Management" page to apply. 200+ previous hours are required, preferrably previous management experience. Other requirements and duties may be found on our website.TexAir is doing wonderfully. We are a small and intimate community of pilots that are here to enjoy Flight Simulator. But, we also have a schedule much like a real world international airline. The idea is "freedom of flight." If you feel like that is the kind of VA you are looking for, then we invite you to join us. We're always hiring for pilots at all of our hubs: KAUS, KBUF, KDEN, KGEG.http://www.texairvirtual.org
