"After a delay we had no control over, we have got N200EJ in our sights, and she is a beauty." CEO Shawn Fitts stated as the first 737-300 for EastJet rolled into the hanger at CVG. In a fact sheet EastJet released just hours before, N200EJ's sister ships will be delivered in the pre dawn hours of Sunday and will operate flights to New York, Boston, and Tampa/St. Pete. "We felt it necessary to upgrade the service to our longest routes and our most flown routes with the 737 to maximize profit." Mathew Laiter, COO, released a statement in advice to the arrival. "This expansion is now critical to our success. This is truly a new experience for all of us." With bigger aircraft, come more destinations for EastJet. Tampa/St. Pete International Airport will be served 3 times daily from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International. Offering competitive fares to a great destination, EastJet is projected to do nicely in the new market. Mr. Fitts also added "We are also in the process of evaluating our destinations. Due to light loads, the CVG-TYS flight will be terminated on the 15th of this month. Also starting on August 15th, Chicago/Midway will be served by our fleet of Dash-8's.The CRJ-200's that has previously flown on the JFK/BOS/MDW flights will be acting as spares and doing light charters for the weeks to come.
