Hmmm, why is max res quite low....?

Recommended Posts

If I go to the Display hardware settings within FS2002, it tells me that the max res I can get is 1600x1200x16. This is puzzling to me. I have the Ti-4600 card and my 21" TRINITRON can go to 1800x1400. Actually, I have been using 1280x1024x32 for a long time on both Trinitrons and find it perfect but it would be nice to have the option to go to 1600x1200x32 if I felt like being excessive. I also think it would be nice to try that setting and see if I can dump FSAA which is still something of a frame rate killer.Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!JS

JS - Set your desktop to 1600x1200x32 and it will then show as a fullscreen option in FS2002. Kind of a pain but it works most of the time.Trip

You can also set the res manually in FS2002 cfg file. Just change the 16bit to 32bit and then save it. It'll stay there until you open the ingame display options. From what I understand, once you open the display options in game, you have to exit the sim to get the 16x12x32bit res back again. Maybe you could try that max monitor res if your vid card supports it and let us know if FS supports res' higher than 16x12x32bit.

I also went the desktop route and then re-set the fonts to a larger size in windows, so that 1600*1200 looks good for everything. 22" monitor.L.Adamson
