Flashing Polygons On Geforce 2

Recommended Posts

Guest

I have been putting up with "flashing polygons" for way too long now. I have had them ever since buying my new Dell a year ago (see specs below). Turning off my MIP Mapping seams to get rid of them, but then the rest of my graphics suffer. In the attached picture you can see the discolored squares on the runway and at the top of the picture. It looks even worse when flying around mountains...I get many blue and yellow flashing "polygons."Tips appreciated. Thanks.Dell Dimension 8100256 MB RAMP4 1.3 GHz ProcessorGeForce2 GTS 32MB Graphics CardWindow XP SP1

Over the last few weeks my Geforce 1 developed flashing polygons that eventually caused lockups. I suspected it was a heating problem. After a little investigation I found the fan on the card had failed and was rotating at only about a hundred RPM (should be a few thousand). After adding an additional fan it's been working perfectly. Best regards, Chris

I cant remember if the GeForce 2 supports T&L or not.I have seen some of these anomolies in the past in certain areas with T&L enabled. If so, disable.Regards,Jim Rhoads

Hey...I really appreciate all the feedback.I checked out my bios, but couldn't find any way to disable fast writes. I haven't had a chance to look into the other ideas yet.Not sure what "T&L" is. I'll probably feel stupid when you tell me, but if you could point me in the right direction that'd be great. Thanks again!
