Sound Impacts Framerate - HELP

Featured Replies

Does anyone running SBLIVE on XP experience this problem with the sound card impacting frame rates? When I run FS2K with sound it will cut my frame rates in half and make the flight a lot less pleasant. Also, some of the turoprop sounds crackle and pop.I have no IRQ conflicts as far as I can tell and the upgrade to the latest SBLIVE drivers did not help. Thanks!Windows XP SP1PIII 500 mhz256 RAMGEFORCE 2 MX 400 4.0.4.1SBLive Value 5.1.2603.0Chris

I also have the SB Live! and initially I had sound problems with the compressed FS2002 native ADPCM (Adaptive PCM) wav files (I have WIN XP Home). The default XP drivers don't seem to handle the sound files very well and as you say there is crackling and even a slight echo in the crackle. The solution for me was to update the XP driver with the very latest Creative version (for XP) from the website: http://www.creative.comFermin - fsadventures.net][/i

One of our beta testers also had this problem. He resolved it by applying the latest XP service pack.Milton

I didn't know SP2 was out, where can I get it?Cheers,Gosta.

Gosta, Service pack were his words, but he may have meant a driver upgrade.Milton

Hi Milton,he did indeed - I mistakenly took your reply to be in response to the original poster. Please accept my apologies.Cheers,Gosta.

Were your frame rates impacted? What is the version of your SB LIVE drivers?thanks!
