September 27, 200223 yr You know, that actually seems rather inexpensive. :-) I've been scoping our Piper Dakotas for $110,000US--that Mig is only $90,000 more.....and I can fly at Mach 2.1. :-eekMaybe I can just leave the wife and kids at home!!! :-)Regards,http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jsnyder99/sigs/gaphoto.jpg | [LINK:www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?photographersearch=Jeffrey%20L.%20Snyder&distinct_entry=true|AIRLINERS.NET PHOTOS] [link:www.biblegateway.com/bgaudio/english/NIV/Max%20McLean/RM/bgaudio.pl?selection=1|AUDIO BIBLE] ] [/font
September 27, 200223 yr I wonder what kinda clearance/restriction there is on private aircraft breaking the sound barrier over the US. What other aircraft are available to the general public which can do even mach 1?
September 27, 200223 yr There's a MiG 21 at KBTV :)he needs to make special arrangements with ATC because his legs are so short- they don't carry much gas, as the 21 is a point interceptorAnd no, one cannot fly supersonic over the USA- legally anyhow.
September 27, 200223 yr LOL, You'd think what a deal until you started paying for fuel and maintanence. Maybe you could work something out with Air Force to get refueled so you could actually go someplace.
September 27, 200223 yr There are a number of T-38/F-5's currently for sale. In fact, there are three listed on Trade-a-plane.com.http://www.trade-a-plane.com/protected/tap/large/560531.jpgThere is also a company that specializes in restoration of T-38/F-5's:http://www.thorntonaircraft.com/main.cfmYou can see photos of their restorations here:http://www.thorntonaircraft.com/body/body.cfm?page_name=milRegards,http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jsnyder99/sigs/T2.jpg | [LINK:www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?photographersearch=Jeffrey%20L.%20Snyder&distinct_entry=true|AIRLINERS.NET PHOTOS] [link:www.biblegateway.com/bgaudio/english/NIV/Max%20McLean/RM/bgaudio.pl?selection=1|AUDIO BIBLE] ] [/font
September 27, 200223 yr Actualy that Mig-21 UTI is (or was, probably sold by now) the property of the Internal Revenue Service (Along with a Mig-19) after the owner was convicted of tax evasion and selling stolen aircraft parts..... Too Bad because he was really into warbirds.... previously he owned several Fouga Magisters and a really nice B-25 Mitchel.Brian
