~~ Modified Baron Panel ~~

Featured Replies

With the resurrection in popularity of the default Beechcraft Baron 58, thanks to the recent release of the paintkit by Bob and "Ace", I thought I would remind people of a modified Baron panel I did some time ago. This modified Baron panel is really a series of "tweaks" to the default panel--such as repositioned and sized throttle quadrant, GPS, and radio stack; new panel lighting to match pictures from the Beechcraft (Raytheon) website; and new GPS shrouds to mimic the Garmin 195 handheld receiver or the Garmin 500 panel-mounted unit. You can see these changes below. Basically, you will see that the throttles, radio stack, and GPS are now contained WITHIN the panel, unlike before where these popup panels would extend outside the boundaries of the panel itself and obstruct the visibility. I personally think these modifications are a bit more aesthetically pleasing. :-)You can download this file, which is named BaronJS1.zip, here at flightsim.com or at Avsim (the Avsim links are provided in my signature). While you are at it, you can download my similar panel modifications for the Cessna 172 and the 182's also available at the link below.Regards,http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jsnyder99/sigs/gaphoto.jpg | [LINK:www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?photographersearch=Jeffrey%20L.%20Snyder&distinct_entry=true|AIRLINERS.NET PHOTOS] [link:www.biblegateway.com/bgaudio/english/NIV/Max%20McLean/RM/bgaudio.pl?selection=1|AUDIO BIBLE] ] [email protected][/fontNew position and size of throttle quadranthttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d94fe2d1e1f3edf.jpgNew position and size of radio stackhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d94fe351e3a3edf.jpgNew lightinghttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d94fe3a1e461e2f.jpgNew Garmin 500 shroudhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d94fe411e51dcf1.jpgNew Garmin 195 shroudhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d94fe481e62a70d.jpg

Jeff, I have your panel and the new uploads for the textures, all of the packages are very nice. However, I no longer have the 'modified' air file (HD crash) which allows this aircraft to truly handle nicely. What would be your recommendations on going about getting this file that was recently removed from the sites?ThanksMike S. [email protected]

Jeff,Have it ... use it! The default panel is really not at all that bad, with your nice little "touches", it is excellent.I do have one additional tweak installed though. :-)I have the Radar Gauge installation which I released installed as well, for the traffic monitoring. (The gauge is by Eric Marciano. I simply created a bitmap for it and put together the package.)I don't remember the file name, but do a search for "Jorge" in the library and it will show up. The default installation instructions for the package are for the Baron panel... so that is why I mention it here. :-)

There was an awesome air file released just the other day for the Baron. I asked a friend of mine that has a few hours in an E55 and he said that he remembers it being really heavy in pitch and really light in roll, just the way this update makes the FS aircraft.
