Overlay Files using AFCAD

Featured Replies

Hi All, I have downloaded and installed some overlay files using AFCAD as the install program. Inparticular i have installed some to Heathrow. However i have now noticed that the files have messed up the ILS freqencies etc. I have been told that sometimes that the price you pay for overlaying an airport! Does anyone know how i can get rid of any overlays which are causing me problems without restoring all the airports back to their default setting? Any help is much appreciated Daren :-)

Installing overlays cannot mess up the ILS frequencies at airports - it can only change the list of them in Map View. The actual ILS's will still be at the airport. As for removing the overlays, it's not easy...1. Export all modified airports from that AFD file (except the ones you want to remove!)2. Replace the current AFD .bgl file with the .ORIGINAL file in the ScenedbAFDFilesScenery folder.3. Import all airports exported in #1 back into the default AFD file.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Thanks for your advice Tom,Where do i find the files to remove as instructed in step #1Daren

In step #1 you use the Export menu item in AFCAD. It will find the files for you. Take note of which AFD file each airport is in (right click the white space at each airport) for step #2. However, you only need to do this for airports which are in the same region (i.e. AFD file) as Heathrow.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
