AI traffic

Recommended Posts

Guest

I need help with AI traffic. I done everything in accordance with written instructions with ttools. My flight plans show, but the assigned aircraft don't. I double checked with the AI traffic program and my flight plans are there, but no plans are executed. The only aircraft that show are the FS2002 professional edition organic ones. Please help, I am frustated after working for weeks in setting up new traffic. Thanks.

Match the name of the airplanes in your aircraft list to the ones in your aircraft folder in FS the. The name in the title line of the airplane's .cfg file must match exactly with the name of the airplane(s) in the aircraft.txt. You also might want to adjust your traffic desinty settings; max it out if possible. Go into your FS2002.cfg file go to "Traffic Manager" and bump up the DENSITY setting to something above 100 (i'll let you use your imagination but sky's the limit!).

Make sure you don't have the default traffic.bgl and the updated traffic.bgl in your fs2002scenedbATCScenery folder. Rename the default to traffic.ORIGINAL.bbb OR completely remove it from the folder and store in a safe area on your hardrive.

I don't understand how you could have two files with the same name in the same folder. When you do a TCompile, doesn't it automatically update the traffic.bgl in the ATC folder?

It may not be the same name exactly, could be traffica.bgl or trafficold.bgl. From reading the TTools Forum posts, warnings have been made not to leave old *.bgl files in your fs2002scenedbatcscenery folder. It seems the FS2002 scenery engine will read any file with the *.bgl extension. If it contains the correct data, it will confuse the scenery engine. That is why it is best to remove the default altogether or change its extension. I don't know if it was Lee Swordy who first changed it to *.ORIGINAL.bbb or someone else.
