ATC voices garbled after installing FS2002 on New Compu

Featured Replies

I have just finished installing FS2002 onto my new system. Everything seems to work fine with the exception of the ATC voices seem garbled and almost like they are in an echo chamber. They seem as though they have static associated with them also. The rest of the sounds seem normal as do the voices that come with the Dreamfleet 737. In the settings, I have the sound quality set to "high" and I have reinstalled a couple of times to see if that would help, but with no luck.Would anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem as it ran fine on the old system. Thanks for any help.Roger Hollands

Make sure you have all the Audio codec installed. In Win98, select control panel, multimedia, Devices Tab, Audio Compression Codecs. The ones you need are:Microsoft IMA ADPCM CODECMicrosoft ADPCM CODECMicrosoft PCM ConverterIf they are missing or you want to reinstall, select control panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab, Multimedia, Details Button, select/check Audio Compression and any other options you would like to install, OK, and follow the instructions. For WinXP, insert you WinXP CD and conduct a installation recover/reinstall.
