Headphones

Have any of you guys tried listening to FS2002 through headphones? I was forced to recently and I don't think I'm going back now. It was incredible. I was able to pick out the tinyest of details, the background noise from AI aircraft as they transmit, the clicking of the radios as I transmit, the gentle wind noise as I descend.I tried both the Baron and the new ERJ, the Baron was realistically noisy and the ERJ was atmospherically quiet and professional. The only downside is that if some of your sounds aren't quite normalised then the loud sounds will blow your head off.Just to encourage a bit of experimentation, my FS experience is greatly enhanced.Take care,Ian

jerrycwo4Last year when i purchased my new dream machine with the top of the line hardware (Creative Sound Blaster "Audigy") with a sub woffer and 4 other speakers, I plugged my headset into the included little black box and have been using head phones ever since ( the other sounds hardware has 400 watts of power).... I still prefer the headphones.jerry

Never use anything else but Headphones... they can't be beaten.(unless you have a good surround Sound setup on high volume, I guess)Simon.

Using headphones is the only way to go.I fly mostly online on VATSIM and headphones allow me to hear the controller's instructions over the engine noise. I've tried a number of headphones over the past few years; I'm currently using Plantronics Audio 90 Multimedia headphones...The built-in noise-cancelling microphone is great, I also use it with voice-recognition software to dictate my posts rather than type.http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/e...peId=cat1430032For even more realism, I sometimes run Flight Deck Companion and Game Commander along with FS2002. The way I have my software configured; I can simply say a voice command such as "Gear Down" and the co-pilot function in Flight Deck Companion responds " Gear Down...three green and locked" and Game Commander interprets the verbal command and executes the command.Flight Deck Companion has a forum here on AVSIM if you're interested.You can find info on Game Commander 2 at http://www.gamecommander.com/products/gc2.html
