My video card just died... I think =(

Featured Replies

I have a GForce 3 Ti500 card and I think that it just died. It was using FS2002 and when I exited it the screen dimmed very dark and all of the blue color is gone.. :( Sucks...I plugged my screen into my laptop and the screen works fine. I will reseat the card tonight but I think that its dead... :(

Yeah its the card.....oh well, its covered under warranty....I guess I will buy a new Ti4600 and then once this one comes back I will sell it.How does anyone who owns a Ti4600 like them? Which one do you own?

So you changed cards and all is well?Just curious, as monitors exhibit the same symptoms when they die.Best,bt

>So you changed cards and all is well? >>Just curious, as monitors exhibit the same symptoms when >they die. >>Best, >>bt No....I put my same monitor on my laptop and it worked fine..soi it was the video card.Tonight I took out my Ti500 (the card that was giving me trouble) clean it, and reseated it back into the PC. Turned it on and now its working again.......So I don't know what to think....maybe I should send it the card anyways and let Leadtek take a look at it...I was asking if anyone who owns a Ti4600 had any complaints about it?

>So I don't know what to think.... maybe I should send it the card anyways and let Leadtek take a look at it...Hmmmm....tough call. It does have a warranty, 3 years probably, at least 1. If you send it back for "inspection" it could take weeks to get it replaced. OTOH, since you say it

Have you ever had problems with FS2002 rebooting back to the desktop while you are flying? Particularly, when there is a high demand on the 3D scenery and or in weather? My Gf3-Ti500 does this, well at least I think it is the video card.Terry

Joshieca,I have a Visiontek 4600TI, from having a Visiontek geforce3 standard. She runs great. Never had a problem with the Visionteks. Seems to work well with the new AMD 2100+, and the 512DDR ram and Abit mobo I got myself for fathers day. :)

Joshieca: I'm sorry, I'm a dufus. I missed your whole point on this question. So...I have a 4600. I am very pleased. No problems.YMMV.I DO need to wear my reading glasses when I come here LOL!!!Best,bt

Well my video card seems to be fine...I think that it just slipped a bit out of the AGP slot, because once I pushed it back in, no troubles...BUT......I went ahead and ordered a Ti4600 Leadtek today. :)...a friend of my friend's wants to buy my old card...so my final cost for the Ti4600 will only be around $150. I figure since I run the flight sim on a 19" monitor the extra 64MB of ram (128 total) for the video should help out a bit. Will let you all know how I like later in the week when it comes in......- Josh
