I need some hardware advice! EXPERTS ONLY PLZ

Featured Replies

This is directed to EXPERTS OF PC HARDWARE!...........My PC is 450mhz P3 192SDRAM 10GB HD(yuk). Its is not made for FS2002, let me tell ya! My PC stutters sooooooooo bad. I feel like cryin, then tossing ot the window. And AI Traffic did it! I found some cool stuff at pricwatch.com. They have Motherboard Combos. It comes with chipset(processor), CPU, and fan. And some other things like heatsink(whats that?) If I got the combo, is that all I need? If I swap old for new, along with getting more memory, will my P.C. work? Will it be better? Please discuss! Thanks to all!

First, you didn't provide enough information about your present system for anyone to determine if your computer case with powersupply are adequate. Looking at the sparse specs you provided, I would say it is probably marginal.Second, from your description of "what is a heatsink", I would conclude you are not ready to build your own system. I would search the web or local bookstores on books or tutorials for building computers. You certainly can buy parts and pieces from pricewatch. However, if you buy one part from many vendors, the shipping is going to get expensive. You might be better to look at several vendors, price all the components from each plus the shipping and pick the vendor that provides the best overall price. You also need to ensure the vendor has a good reputation. Visit http://www.anandtech.com/ and http://www.tomshardware.com/ for good information.
