July 20, 200223 yr It appears that this card is available to purchase directly from Matrix store. Has anyone tried it with FS2002 yet ?SteveCYYZ
July 24, 200223 yr I think you will be lucky to find someone say yes. And if they do, it would have been a very brave purchase if they had to buy it themselves. Not only can't this card compete speed wise, but the 3D images I have seen on the net are inferior to those of a Geforce 4. Unfortunately I can't see how this card has any benefit at all to flight simmers.
July 29, 200223 yr Steve,DONT DO IT...step away ffom the credit card and no one will get hurt! Generally speaking, other than the AA, I'm not sure you'd see any real difference in performance with these over the Geforce series from Nvidia, as FS is very CPU dependant.I think the cards to watch are the soon-to-be-released ATI 9700 boards. Check out Anandtech.com for a look-see at the new chipset from ATI, paired up against Nvidia's best and the Parahelia. Wow :-eekDamn our obsessions. There's always something better around the corner! :-jumpy
July 30, 200223 yr Hy!I agree with all of you. This new matrox is definitely no gaming card. Some german tech-magazins tested it a few weeks ago, and wrote that this Card is easily outperformed by a GeForce 3...But, it IS recommended for multi-monitor-settings. So, if you want to use more than one monitor AND you processor is powerful enough, you can give it a try. Matrox currently builds the best multi-monitor-cards (IMHO), but still has a lot of work to do concerning performance of their cards...IMHO and HTH,Danny(near EDFU)P.S.: Sorry for my "english", I
