September 5, 200223 yr I have a cable modem internet connection (blueyonder UK) which works fine. The only problem is when I go to my Network Connections folder in the Control Panel, there's nothing in there.... no connection icons. If I hit refresh, I get an error message telling me "unable to retrieve the list of network adapters on your machine. Please make sure the Network Connections service is enabled and running."I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the network card. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make the connection show up?Thanks
September 5, 200223 yr Do you only have the cable modem connected to the Network Interface Card (NIC)? What do you see in Device Manager, do you have a NIC listed as hardware, no contentions? Are you using this computer to communicate successfully with the internet or using another computer? When you deleted the NIC and rebooted, reinstalled the NIC, did you use updated drivers or let it use the drivers that Windows found on your computer?
