October 11, 200223 yr Does anyone know if there is some sort of utility that allows FS2002 to recieve GPS input (thru serial or usb port) and display it's location in the virtual world? Any info would be appreciated! Thx!-drew
October 12, 200223 yr Hi. Look for a file GPSout.zip. See the readme.txt below. There was another person, about two weeks ago, that was going to implement one, but I never did hear from him. See if this does what you need. TVGPSout Version 2.40===================GPSout.ini and .dll should both go into the FS98, FS2000 or FS2002 modulesfolder.NOTE: If you cannot see the DLL, please go to the Explorer's View menu.Select "Folder Options" and then the "View" Tab. Then choose either the"Show all files" button or the "Do not show hidden files" -- anything butthe "Do not show hidden or system files" button! (Windows 98 now seems toregard all DLLs as system files and not the "application extensions" theyusually are!).Connect your flying PC to your moving map PC with a serial "null modem" cable(ie send and receive crossed over), and configure your map program accordingly.See the GPSout.ini file, which contains explanations for parameters in GPSoutwhich you may need to adjust. It also gives help for FliteMap, for whichGPSout was originally written.GPSout *may* not support all other moving map and atlas programs, but it hasbeen tested with: AutoRoute 2001: use GGA sentences AutoRoute Express 98: use GGA Anywhere Map, by Control Vision: use RMC, GGA and GSA MapPoint 2001: use GGA or RMC Map'n'Go: use RMC FliteMap: use RMC and PGRMZ with a Garmin NMEA settingRegards,Pete Dowson ([email protected])26th October 2001
