Hello,I'm looking for some help in choosing a monitor for my new system (planning on getting in Mid-January).I'm wondering if I should go with a:19" Trinitron Flat Screen CRTora Dell UltraSharp 1702FP 17" Flat Panel LCDI heard the CRTs are better for gaming and I'm leaning toward that due to the fact that it is cheaper than the LCD.

Get the CRT and make sure it's a Trinitron. You'll love it. Go bigger than 19" if you have the room. Stay away from the LCDs if you're a gamer. Unless you want to spend bookoo bucks on a very high priced one.

Head over to Tom's Hardware.com, he had a comparison of 19 in CRT monitors awhile back. Also, check PCWorld.com for a similar review.Dale

I wouldn't take much notice of the crap from Tom's hardware site.Anyway, CRT's are still the best bang for your buck as far as gaming goes, not just that, but you're not locked to a specific resolution with CRTs like you are with LCD's. A 19" CRT would be your best option my friend :)

Just curious about the Tom's Hardware comment. I've always benefitted from the information he provides. What experience have you had that make ou feel otherwise?

Definately the 19" Trinitron CRT, which is exactly what I have. The Trinitrons are fantastic monitors. Very sharp, great colors.

Greetings,I have Dell Trinitron 21" as my secondary and a new Dell UltrSharp 19" Flat Panel as my primary. I was concerned about how the Sims would look. Flight Sim is great - so is Madden 2003! I highly recommend the FP. I have had the Dell Trinitron for 4 years - never had a problem and love it!
