October 24, 200223 yr Hi,I'm running FS2002 with a GeForce 4 440 Go 32 meg. video card. Does anybody know if this card supports the technology to display water in detail and with reflection in FS2002? If it is supported, does anybody know how to turn these features on? Simply setting the water slider to detail and reflection does nothing.Thank you,Michael W.
October 24, 200223 yr This is probably an MX card and you have met the limitations! I think the GO means go out and get a better card, such as, GeForce 4 Ti4200/4400/4600.Is this running in a laptop per chance? Bill Sieffert
October 24, 200223 yr Yes, I am running this card on a laptop. And come to think of it I think this card is a derivative of the GeForce 4 MX cards. So does this mean that I can or can not display the water effects?Michael W.
October 25, 200223 yr Hi Michael,i have a GeForce2 GO on my Dell laptop which runs just fine, with animated water and reflections... make sure you turn on the "texture detail" switch somewhere to the bottom right in the settings dialog. Multitexturing must also be switched on.Your GF4 should be even better performace-wise but really dont know if there is a feature liimtation of some sort on those cards.cu,celticmatrix
October 25, 200223 yr Ok, now I'm confused. I have all my settings at maximum in FS2002. I also have the latest drivers available for my video card. Any ideas on how to resolve this situation? Am I doomed never to be able to see animated water?Michael W.
October 25, 200223 yr Not sure about reflections on that card, I think this is done using Transformation and lighting in FS2002, but the water animations are done by multi-texturing.You may need to get a video card tweak program to force this, or at least to check if it is available on your card. Lots of settings are not available in your default video card driver.Hope this helps.Chris Ehttp://www.circle-software.co.ukhttp://website.lineone.net/~flightsimukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)
October 26, 200223 yr Wow. My problem gets even worse. I just noticed that Anti-Aliasing when turned on or off does nothing, which to me means that it probably isn't working in the first place. Looks like I'm missing out on a whole bunch of great graphical features for apparantly no reason at all.Michael W.
October 26, 200223 yr Visit http://www.guru3d.com/ , read any help items, download the tweakers and drivers that pertain to your graphics card. Bill Sieffert
