October 26, 200223 yr Hi, I wanted to know if a Geforce 2GTS 32MB video card would work in my system? My system requirements: AMD Duron 954Mhz PC-100 128MB RAM ~9GB hardisk space NEC Multisync XV17+ Monitor Would it work for flight simulator 2002 and other 3D games without giving any problems? Thanks.
October 26, 200223 yr Well, you certainly leave us in a lurch with "Would it work for flight simulator 2002 and other 3D games without giving any problems?"!:-roll The card will work in fs2002 and other 3D games, but the quality of play will be limited, not only by the card, but the remainder of your system. To make your system better, here are some recommendations:RAM: Increase to a minimum of 256MB, optimum 512MB.Hardrive: FS2002 full install requires over 2GB, you really need to think about what your computer is running in the background, how much swap file space is available on the hardrive. You are getting very limited in space. You didn't indicate what OS, Win98, WinXP you were using. If Win98, visit http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/index.htm for help in eliminating programs that use up resources. If WinXP, visit various XP sites for similiar information.Your system is capable of running FS2002 and other 3D games, but you need to optimize it for play. You may need to update the drivers for your controller chips, sound, and graphics for better play. Bill Sieffert
October 26, 200223 yr Thanks, but will the card be fully compatible with my current system? It will work and give a rather good play, right, maybe a little slow, but pretty good, right? Thanks. P.S. How will the quality of play be limited by the card?
October 26, 200223 yr If you are asking me, "Should I buy this card?", I am not going to recommend it! The card is older technology and will have limitations not only from a standpoint of the Graphics Renderer Chip but the amount of RAM on the board. Each computer system is different! Each user has their own perception of what is acceptable.I cannot give you a definite answer on whether the card will perform to your specifications. Bill Sieffert
