October 29, 200223 yr Hi Tord,I took this brave step myself some time ago and I am happy I did.Did a little tweaking to inside mechanisms and it is smooth now to my enjoyment. There are 6 screws in total to be taken out on the bottom of the main unit. Regular philips screws, two of them covered by rubber caps. Take them out, unscrew and delicately take two parts apart. You must be careful doing that, as there are short cables linking both parts together. The trim wheel you tinkered with is connected to a plastic shaft, connected again to the main yoke rod in the middle. You might have just sort of popped it out of its 'collar' on the yoke rod. Once you have it open you may as well lubricate the rod with petroleum jelly (seem to work for most of users) to achieve greater smoothness.Good luck.Don
