I KNEW that the clamping system on the CH yoke was trouble. Tonight when I clamped it onto the desk, the screws stripped... yep, thats right... the right screw will not clamp at all because the threads are stripped to the point where its not gripping. Ive hot alot of trouble with it lately when trying to clamp it because sometimes the threads get so out of place that it takes a wrench just to get it to move... and no im not clamping it super tight... just normal usage. I've had it for less than a year and... darn! Also, my right brake on my CH pedals isnt functioning... I really shouldve sent in those warranty things when I first got these things because now I cant get them replaced... $200 bucks for these two products... man that really sucks... well I guess I can get by on holding the yoke base with one hand and flying with the other...

Hi Todd,I had/have exactly the same problem with my yoke. I found a simple solution though - use a c-clamp to hold the yoke on the desk. I'm starting to lose the second screw, so I'll be buying a new clamp soon. Fortunately, the little plastic "feet" fit so tightly inside the unit that I don't need the screws to hold the feet on, which makes the c-clamp fix possible. Maybe this will work for you as well.

Yeah, I had the same problem. If you are even a little bit mechanically inclinded, take the unit apart. There are about 10 or so little Philips screws on the bottom (a couple hide under the rubber grippy-things) and open the unit up. You'll find a simple nut/bolt combination that fits into the molded plastic. The bolt is about 3-4" long. I went to Home Depot and found some higher quality stainless-steel nubt/bolt combos that traveled very smoothly. Popped them in and -presto- a nice, smooth, un-stripped clamping mechanism.I will caution that you have to pay attention when you take the thing apart. Both the top and bottom of the unit are used to control the placement of the potentiometers. Just be careful when you're putting it back together. I screwed it up the first time and crashed hard...but I was uninjured :-hah.It might disappoint you when you open the thing up, too. Doesn't really seem like there is $110 worth of stuff in there. I guess the plastic is expensive?!Also, you tend to wreck the adhesive stuff on the back of the rubber grippy-things when you take them off. I used a small piece of double-sided tape and it's lasted since.Good luck,Chris

Have you tried contacting CH Products? I think they will stand behind their products...Doesn't hurt to ask...I think they would be interested for future versions of the yoke..Barry
