If you don't have the manual for the MOBO visit http://www.biostar.com.tw/support/manual/socket_a.php3 . I downloaded the manual and it looks like the GeForce 2 GTS should work in your computer. You should also visit www.viaarena.com for the latest 4-in-one drivers for the VIA chips.

The card you are asking about is not the latest and greatest by any means. It certainly will not provide the high level graphics of a GeForce 3 or 4 card.You only have 32MB of memory on the card vice 64/128MB. Depending on what you are replacing will determine any improvements/degradation.It all depends on your entire computer's performance.

Your question is amusing for the following reason. Locking up for graphics card reasons have been numerous but correctable. I would visit http://www.guru3d.com/ , download the howto..., necessary utility programs they recommend, and the drivers for your card based on its operating system. For your card, I would try the 29.42 driver first. You can update to later drivers once you have the new card installed and operating properly.Follow the howto... carefully and you should be able to install the new card successfully.
