December 2, 200223 yr Well, i just got a new computer. :-)But, its a laptop. :-( IS flightsim good on one? Ok, its faster than my current PC. My PC is P3 450 mhz, Gforce 2 MX 400. 10GB. This new baby is P4 2.0 GHZ, 30GB Ram, 256RM. Both are Dells. Ive been satisfied with Dells for a while. I guess its ok. But the graphics? is so-so. Can someone please tell me if my flightsimming will be the same? This laptop was made for school, since thats where ill be going in Jan. So, flightsimming , i may no longer have time for. Gee. that sux.I appreciate any input. Aloha!
December 2, 200223 yr You hit the nail on the head! Graphics adapters are the limitation in laptops due to size and heat generation. You didn't indicate what graphics adapter was installed.Over the past week, several posters have gotten laptops with fairly decent graphics adapters and their flight simulation was OK, not great but flyable. December 2, 200223 yr From the specs you show, that is a fairly high-end machine and probably has a pretty reasonable graphics chip. I have been simming on a Toshiba laptop for 3 years and it is "acceptable" (although my new system is way more so :-) However, I had a 19-inch monitor on the aux video port, and a full-size USB keyboard and USB joystick on a 4-port hub on the laptop's usb port. So it felt just like a big PC... It will work quite well.Art.
