December 5, 200223 yr Hi all,I have an Asus V8420 128 MB with dual out, and two Visionmaster Pro 450 19" monitors. My system is an Asus A7v333 with 512 MB.Nvidia reference drivers 40.72 are on my system, as is DirectX 8.1I have been trying to display FS2002 on both monitors, but i can't figure out how to do it. It works fine in XP, i can spread windows over two monitors but in FS it won't work.I did see the post from Georgi55, and the shots look great, i would like to have that too, but he does not point out EXACTLY how he got it to work. Do you have to work windowed, or full screen etc. etc.Can anyone give me detailed instructions how to set up Nview and FS2002? (maybe Georgi55 himself...)Grtz from Holland
December 6, 200223 yr K, do this. ;)Right click on desktop->Properties->Settings->Advanced->nView->Select "Horizontal Span"That's in 30.xx drivers, and I think in 40.xx nView setting is located together with all other settings. Then, run FS2002 and change it to higher resolution. (use height as guide, i.e., 2048*768=1024*768 when on one monitor)That should work.
December 7, 200223 yr Wow, thanks Georgi !I have followed your instructions, and it is absolutely great!Unbelievable I might say. The whole 'flying' experience gets so much better when simming with two displays! :DUnfortunately I do not have a camera to make shots of my setup, but if I did I would sure post them! Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands !
December 7, 200223 yr I'm glad that it worked :)the experience in VC is especialy awesome with 2 displays :D
December 7, 200223 yr Georgi,I happened into the Trains forum the other day and guess who I saw as a poster! You, of course! I was going to ask if you use MSTS, have stretched your track across your monitors? Bill Sieffert
December 7, 200223 yr MSTS is piece of Junk that doesn't allow you to do anything fancy.I've give up on that software since February and been using Trainz.MSTS will not only not work on two monitors, but it will crash if you try to load it while Nview is enabled.Which forum did you see me in, train-sim.com? If so I've given up on that forum too, full with little kids and flamers. Here are some screenshots of Trainz on dual disaplays.(You will notice that the image is tilted in middle;that's becuase you tilt your monitor when you use it(so it will look like window in right, etc)http://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/BDZ_Panorama1.jpghttp://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/BDZ_Panorama2.jpghttp://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/panorama1.jpghttp://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/panorama2.jpg
March 28, 200323 yr Not sure if anyone else has run into this problem but this does not seem to work at all..I am running 2 video cards, 1 moniter on each, both 64mb cards, amd 1.8, 512mb ddr ect..2 moniters in windows works perfectly, not problems, however in flight sim when i attempt to use 2 (by changing resolution in FS) its just totally black (both screens).I've done the > Right click on desktop->Properties->Settings->Advanced->nView->Select "Horizontal Span"and Nview is enabled.I've tried for hours but can't seem to work out the problem..any ideas? :
March 29, 200323 yr Are you using "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" under Right click on desktop->Properties->Settings->Advanced?If so you have to diable that one and then go into nView and select the horizontal option.
March 29, 200323 yr >Are you using "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" >under Right click on >desktop->Properties->Settings->Advanced? >If so you have to diable that one and then go into nView and >select the horizontal option. did that - the first moniter tries extending the desktop, but the 2nd moniter is totally blank (off?)in desktop->properties->settings->advanced->nview .. the 'standard' says Standard (nview disabled) ... could this have something to do with it maybe? although nview in control panel>nview is enabled for this desktop ?:
