January 4, 200323 yr Hello everyone,I have a queston or two to ask. firts I just upgraded my motherboard and processor from a Biostar M7VIB and an AMD 1700XP to a Soyo P4S 645D lite and a Pentium 4 2.4 (yes quite a big jump). Everything went pretty smooth on the install however I have noticed that when the computer is booting at the very begining the AwardBIOS display is stating that my P4 is a 1.80 GHz. Also I have checked with the system information page and it too states that it's 1.80 GHz.:-mad I have checked the numbers etched onto the processor itself and it says 2.4 and my device manager states that as well. so as you can see I have become extremly confused. Is there something that I may have missed along the way. Also is the temperature in the PC health status page of the BIOS setup the most accurate way to measure system temperature or is there another way.thanks for any help or suggestions offeredNick :-abducthttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3dfc106f5bf736da.jpg
January 4, 200323 yr I would check your BIOS setting for the clock speed to see if you can step up the CPU clock multiplier to increase your speed. See this site - http://www.soyousa.com/kb/kbdesc.php?id=71 or your Soyo MOBO manual.Heat - Unless you want to place external heat sensors in and around your CPU, Graphics Adapter, and case, then the Soyo Health Page is sufficient.
