A question for the experts:Just installed a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP with an AMD 2400XP. Kept my Crucial 512MB PC2100 memory, GF3ti200 and 7200 40GB hardrive. Ran FS2K2 and it doesn't seem like anything changed, FPS kind of stayed the same. I'm running a network off this computer so I know that draws resources.Running Easytune to overclock it shows I'm running the FSB at 140mhz, and this gives me a software overclocking setup at 2100mhz. Anyone else running this program? What are your settings? Comparable specs? On the mobo, I've got the switches set at AUTO for the clock ratio and 133mhz for the CPU clock. When I set the clock at 166 mhz, computer won't turn on. When I set the clk_ratio to 12x computer won't turn on. Haven't messed with the BIOS at all. Running latest Hyperion VIA 4in1 drivers and latest BIOS off of Gigabytes website. Anyone got any ideas on how I can squeeze the last bit of performance out of this rig. So sad that this is what we've been reduced to, lol.Planning on getting Kingsgate 512MB PC3200 memory in the not to distant future (that way I can use my old ECS K7VTA3/1700XP to run outside views maybe), will this give me that much better performance? Thanks,Lobaeux

Okay, here's another question. Better to run an AMD 2400XP/Gigabyte GA-7AXP at clock speed of 15 and FSB of 143 giving me a 2145 or a clock speed of 12 and an FSB of 180? I'm running Crucial PC2100 memory and a GeForce 3 ti 200. I've got a whopping big heatsink and fan on the AMD, and a mighty big fan blowing cool air over the entire mobo. Using EasyTune, my CPU temps average around 40C and my system averages around 35C. Don't really know how accurate those temps are of course.Just a question on what'll give better performance, higher clock ratio/lower FSB, or lower clock ratio/higher FSB. My 3D mark 2001 scores were around ~8800.Thanks,Lobaeux

LOL!! Look to the northwest, they'll come from Little Rock, AR!!No seriously, with this EasyTune utility, you can change things around, using software changes, that of course are overridden by BIOS or mobo jumper changes, that seem to test the changes you've made. I've put some pretty outrageous numbers through there, the computer will lock up, but will come right back after a reset. This mobo seems like an overclockers dream, just experimenting to see if that last drop of performance can be wrung out. But, I guess you're right I should just be happy with the performance I've got, lol.Lobaeux

Lob, You are much better running a higher FSB which raises your throughput than a higher multiplier. If the memory can handle it. Your temps are just below safe for an XP at that clock speed. The older XP's are notorious heat pumps. Before you do anything I would invest in a top notch cpu cooler. From there you can work your way up in small increments w the FSB.You didnt say what your clock speeds were w the Video card but you will see a greater percentage increase overclocking your video card than your cpu. Also, I prefer to overclock from the bios instead of software.Let me know how you make out.Bobby
