March 1, 200323 yr When I start FS2002 (or SideWinder Control Panel) with SideWinder throttle control in minimum power position, the aircraft (and the SideWinder control) does read it as in maximum power. It is necessary to move a little the SideWinder throttle control to obtain it to return to the minimum power.Anyone of you has the same problem?O.S: MS Windows XP SP1Drivers: Original MS SideWinder Precision 2 Joystick driversJoystick on USB PC port
March 1, 200323 yr Yes, but if you touch for example the button 2,or put flaps... the throttle goes down too.I have found that this situation only happens if you have your own startup situation.Regards.
March 2, 200323 yr Hi miguelpp,I don't understand what do you mean as "if you have your own startup situation". For more information: I have also defined (and assigned to the SideWinder Precision 2 Joystick) a "FS2002" profile (copying the FS2000 one) in the SideWinder control panel, but without solution to the problem.
March 2, 200323 yr I'm using the simple SideWinder Joystick. Some tips, that you likely already know.....Make sure you have d/l'd the current software for the SideWinders:SWGAME30.EXE - often labeled as: SwGameSelf executing file - very easy.Them, go through the steps of recailbration - very easy again. The "start-up situation" referred to, means - what setting you have set in FS - where upon loading FS - the sim. loads to start your flight - the 1st setting where you "are"..... In FS - default is Miegs. Most of us use a user defined start-up - your favorite airport, favorite aircraft, maybe some weather, etc. Anything you like or want to show - upon startup of the sim. (Mine is the KingAir, engines and all avionics "off", Jackson Hole, Wy., snowing and overcast, for example !)With my setup - once in awhile, FS will see throttles "above idle" when I start. If I subsequently touch "any" control axis - the throttle returns to the normal idle. This happens only rarely - and usually if I did not shut down the sim - last time used - in a normal fashion (like I crashed, and bailed out of FS before it reloaded - yes - had to live through scandisk next time). But, if I shut down normally, last flight, I rarely, ever, get this quirk in the throttle setting.I've used Sidewinders since they came out - not the most sophisticated, but still like the feel and precision of the stick - when in use ! Make sure you adjust default sensitivities & null zones for best action on these sticks - I de-sensitize the axis's - and take null zones to near -0-....... and at -0- for the throttle !Good luck !Ron
March 6, 200323 yr Mmmmmmm... it des not solve the problem.I have disconnected the joistick, uninstalled the MS Sidewinder software and re-connected the joistick. Windows XP did recognize the device as "MS SideWinder Precision 2".But I dod not solve the problem. Insted of starting always full power, now it starts always half power.
