March 18, 200323 yr I have been working with MS on my sound (ATC stutter) problem, and MS Online Support asked for me to continue my support thread saying - "interesting case - they want to resolve issue"...... I've had 4-5 back & forth's on this one......Problem I've encountered: MS asked that I remove & reinstall "Audio Compression Drivers". Procedure fairly simple - via C.Panel-Settings - Add/Rem. - Windows Setup - Multimedia - Details.Removed fine - but now - can't reeinstall fro my Win98SE disk. ( Figures ! )I get to the point of selecting the "Audio Compression File" to reinstall - direct the window to my "E" drive - the Win98SE disk - and the next screen just freezes - comes up blank...... Instructions are to confirm "which" multimedia files I wish to install - but - nothing ever appears in the new pop-up box........ Gives response "can't find files". File name it can't find is ( imaadp32acm' )...... I did a search of Win98SE disk - and "no file found"...... ???No biggie. Would like to fix - reinstall - but replacement system on way...... Just thought someone may know answer for cure - now....Thanks Ron
March 19, 200323 yr Hi Ron,imaadp32.acm is in Win98_22.cab along with all the other *.acm files. You have to make sure you point to the proper location on the CD, which is drive:win98.If that doesn't work you can extract the files and try placing them in a temporary folder, then point the install to the temporary folder. Use Winzip or another unzipping program to extract the files to the temporary folder. Bill Sieffert
March 19, 200323 yr Wow.......Thanks Bill !Yup - it worked....... took "several" clicks to get the add/remove wizzard to recognize the location - but it finally took. It's loaded & WinSetup screen shows the files there ! Thanks !Off for a short flight - see if any improvement.......May try that "Colorado" weather...... test sound in heavy clouds & snow.......Ron
