Motherboard and WinXP question.

I just bought a new motherboard with an AMD CPU. My older motherboard has a Celeron processor. Back in the old days of Win 98 I would have been able to just swap out the motherboards without too much trouble changing from Intel to AMD. I

Jon,XP doesn't adapt well to changes in hardware. I've changed hardware a fair bit over the last year, I can tell you that when you change the motherboard it doesn't like it too much. Blue screens - won't boot etc..Your best bet is to do a new install:)

Thanks for the input.I installed the new MB last night and it took all of an hour and a half, about 45 minutes to install the MB and another 40 or so to reinstall XP.All I had to do is boot off of the XP pro CD and then reinstalled the OS. It was easy and I didn
