Sound Question

Featured Replies

Hello all!Quick question: Is there any way possible using a PC to get the RW sound to go to a headset with microphone and the engine/fs sound to go out of the speakers on my computer?? This is more the way real airline pilots hear things (radio only in the headsets) and I'm just looking to make things a little more realistic. Just curious what hardware I'd need or if it's even possible...Thanks in advance,Marchttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

I think it's possible with two sound cards, but I don't know of any other way to do it. (And I have never tried the two sound card setup, so this is just a guess.)Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing

That sounds like a great idea, and since I've got a cheap spare sitting here it wouldn't be too hard to do; I might have to experiment a little... :-)If anybody's done this, let me know!Thanks,Marchttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

So much for the cheap spare...it seems like someone at home threw it away...anyway, Circuit City has a 16 bit Sound Blaster (obviously the base model card) for $29.99. Does anybody know anything about this card? Sounds like a good deal to me, but does anybody know of a better idea? Thanks in advance for your input,Marchttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Using two sounds cards should work fine. If your motherboard has onboard sound, you can use that in addition to a plug in card. Which model of Sound Blaster is that Marc? You might just as well buy one for really cheap on eBay.Oh, double-check that you can select the recording and playback device in RW. I don't remember if you can. You'll need to do that so that RW will use the second audio device rather than the default one.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure?
