What's the performance advantage between the 9500 and the 9700 cards? Is only one DX9 compatible? And how would the 9500 compare with the Ti4200?I'm also interested in which version of DirectX is bundled with WinXP SP1 (Home version)? Before I break sonething in trying to install DX9 :)Thanks fpr any answers.Bruce.

Both are Dx9 compatible. Check this the ATI 9500 pro destroys the GF4 ti4600 when you have AA and all other settings on, it has superior image quality, and it costs less. So it should have no problem with the ti4200. You can overclock the 9500 rather nicely probably up to a 9700pro's standards i believe, and if you go with the 9700pro, it will chew up and spit out that 4600. The Ti4600 and 9500 Pro are of equal performance when you dont have any AA or AF enabled, but turn that on, and 9500pro wins no contest, but the Ti4600 still has worse image quality. Hope I helped.

Thanks for the info. A 9500 is certainly less price than a 9700, and looks like a good place to go from my current GF 3 Ti200.Thanks,Bruce.

Glad I helped Bruce. I wish I could get a 9500pro now, but don't really have any spare cash to get it. You should be happy with your purchase. Pedro
