Could some kind computer wizz out there help me with a printable instruction for removing and adding new graphic drivers. I am running windows 98, or is there a website where I could download the instructions I am using Nvidia drivers I know they self install but its uninstalling the old ones that I am stuck with many thanks for any help at all regards to all Michael

Mike,There is no reason to uninstall the old drivers unless your having a problem installing the new ones. The drivers will automatically install themselves updating those files that need to be updated. Just download the latest set or the set your interested in and when complete, click on the self installer, accept the agreements and allow the installation to complete.Bobby

Thanks Bobby thats what I needed to know I will try that thanks again for your help regards Michael

I would follow the advice on http://www.guru3d.com/ about removing driver remnants from your Win98/ME OS before installing new drivers. Download the correct OS drivers you want and also Detonator Destroyer. Find the instructions also and follow them for the best results.Win2000/XP are much easier to uninstall/install.

Wait wait wait!! Who said that installing NV drivers over the old ones is what to do!? That most assuredly is not the way to do it! You could end up with some nasty problems and/or performance slow downs. To the original poster, you should follow the advice of the fellow who said to go to www.guru3d.com and follow the driver removal instructions.

Having owned everything from a Geforce2 up to a Ti4200 I feel pretty confident in my original post. The only time you need to uninstall Nvidia drivers is if your running Det series. I never had a problem installing Nvidia drivers using the self installer. Maybe I was wrong in not stating that if he was running the Det's he should uninstall them first but I am most certainly not wrong in stating you can install WHQL Drivers or Standard Nvidia drivers over each other with no issues. Dets are another story. For that I was incorrect.Bobby

Fact: They are all Detonators! Ooops! There I go again! Now I'm a so and so, and a self elevated Genuis! Sorry! Sorry! back to my hole...That sure took a lot out of me...Boy....Man O man..... You go girl! :)

Thanks Guys now I am more confused I will try guru's way to be safe but thanks for all the help you gave its great to be able to ask if you dont know and get so much help thanks again Michael

I don't blame you for being more confused. Ignore all the others in this thread, and do this:1) Go to add remove programs and uninstall the Detonators(this should be there, I think.......if it isn't ignore all that I am saying :))2) Go to www.guru3d.com and download Detonator RIP(link on the left side). Unzip it to any folder you like, and then run the .exe. Reboot.3) Run the installer for your new drivers.I do not know if you will be able to do step #1, but if you can, then you are good to go on my instructions(this is the sequence I use)
