May 29, 200323 yr I'm putting together my room right now, meaning I'm setting up two monitors on my 9800 Pro. Since I've purchased it, I put the GeForce 3 in the other computer and now have a spare GeForce 2. Can I put this in to my computer with the 9800 Pro and will it cause problems. What I'd like to do is have the 9800 run a full screen outside view, no gauges, the second output a full gauge screen (PSS Airbus) and then use the GeForce 2 to power the FMGC and throttles or overhead.Anyone know of any problems with running an ATI board and an Nvidia board at the same time?Lobaeux
May 29, 200323 yr I wouldn't advise it. The ATI is perfectly capable of running two monitors by itself. You don't need a second card.
May 29, 200323 yr I'm actually trying to get three monitors to work. One for a full screen outside view, one for just a panel, and one for either overhead or throttle/FMGC view. Lobaeux
May 29, 200323 yr I'm w big..Personally wouldn't mix ATI and Nvidia Drivers....But you could give it a shot..:)Bobby
May 30, 200323 yr You will probably have a hardware conflict since most computer MOBOs don't have more than one AGP slots. Try stuffing the card in one of the PCI slots will end up, "arc, spark, glow-in-the dark" for your computer.BTW, did you move to a new base? Bill Sieffert
May 30, 200323 yr It's been awhile since you've tried to correct me on any of the crazy hardware schemes I've tried to cook up. Just got back from the desert, two months of fun in the sun. Haven't moved, still stuck here at Little Rock, hoping for orders though. If I'm lucky, I'll be going to a pilot training base, or to fly predators in Vegas. I put the GeForce 2 MX PCI card in, haven't configured it or anything yet, but nothing has exploded, and it shows up in my device manager. Trying to talk the wife into buying an LCD screen so I can have her monitor for the overhead view.I did notice that I didn't get as much of a performance increase when I made her computer the host computer for the internet, with the second LAN card and all, taking the load off of my computer. I thought I would've seen a lot less use of resources, but haven't noticed much of a change if any.Lobaeux
May 30, 200323 yr Are you using WinXP Internet Connection Sharing? I don't like it. I have an external router that does all the dirty work. Just need one NIC per computer that way and don't use any extra resources needed by ICS.Glad your back from your desert vacation. Hope you used Camel's Easy SunBlock 9000!! :-aol I think the guys/gals left in the desert are more at risk now than ever! Bill Sieffert
May 31, 200323 yr You're probably right, I'm glad I'm still not over there. Flying was good, but the rest of the crap I could do without.I'm using ICS, for some reason I can't get the WAN input on my external router to work. I've got a CenturyTel DSL modem running into a network card on wife's computer, then a wireless card sharing the internet connection also installed on the wife's computer. Then, I've got my two FS computers hardwired into the Wireless router and a laptop with a wireless card in it. Everything works right now just fine. I've tried hooking the DSL modem into the WAN input of the Linksys wireless router, can't get it to work. I think it's up to the individual ISP's to assign different IP addresses in order to use it that way, but it's extra per month. This way I only pay for one connection fee, yet have 4 on the 'net.Lobaeux
