Registering XP?

Featured Replies

Hi,Just wondering if I got this right (new to XP here)-I have Windows XP Home and want to install it on all 4 PCs for my flightsim and the prompt tells me I have 28days to register it before it is rendered useless. Is there a way around this or does this mean I have to buy 3 more XP packages?? Cheers,Nick

Buy three/four copies. It is against the EULA to install that copy if Windows on more than one machine.

Thanks. More $$$... :(

That depends on where you live - restricting software to use on a single machine is illegal in various countries, so if you live in one of those, you'll be able to activate XP from multiple computers (provided you bought your copy in that country). However, if this practice is legal in your country, I'd suggest returning your copy of XP and rather than buying four separate copies, acquire a so-called VLK (Volume Licensing Key). This will allow you to install your copy of XP on up to five computers without activation (and is probably cheaper than buying separate copies).Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
