How or where can I find out what version of direct X a driver covers. I'm using 29.42 at the present.

Drivers are not DX specific, they will work with all versions of DX.

You might find that a certain DirectX version or Graphics Adapter Driver doesn't work well with you system, however. I recommend updating to the latest DirectX first, then try various drivers to see what works best for your system. When testing graphics adapter drivers, use the directx diagnostic to see if any major problems are detected, then test each of your heavy graphics user programs, i.e., FlightSim, TrainSim, GMAX, other games to see if they all work. You may have to compromise on a lessor driver to make everything work.
