July 9, 200322 yr If John doesnt want it... I do.My mom's VIA Apollo Pro 133 isnt running very good... she has a PIII866 and her MB is only a 2X AGP.
July 9, 200322 yr Thanks for the offer....I think I'm better off waiting for a bit. Since my goal is to eventually replace the cpu anyway, and since I use the PC for some of my WAN support, the less downtime I have the better. Swapping out the motherboard raises another set of issues that I'd rather not tackle right now.... But once again, that was a very nice offer you made--one of the reasons why I love these forums!:-beerchug
July 9, 200322 yr John,I understand. It's a catch-22. MB swaps can be a true pandoras box/can of worms. It's tough. If your only worry is about the fan causing the card to die I've got quite the collection of fans and HS sitting around my shop. Sure I can dig one up. :). I will say though that I ran my 4200 for more than 6 months without a fan!! Overclocked a tad too. Lol..Good luck and keep in touch. Let me know how this little quandry works itself out.Bobby
