Which graphic cards work best with FS2002 or FS2004?

Featured Replies

Right now I have a Compaq Deskopt with an Intel Extreme Graphics Card which is not really a good graphics card for the Flight Sim so I'm want to buy a new laptop with a better graphics card.I haven't decided yet on which laptop I want to buy but there are some I'm looking at like the the Alienware Area-51 and the Dell laptops. I personally prefer the Alienware laptop because it has much better performance, but I still have some questions. How much better are the 32MB and 64MB cards over the Intel Extreme Graphics Card, Can you note the difference? How big is the difference. These are the best graphics card that a Dell laptop can have. Also how much better are the 128MB cards that the Alienware laptops have over the 32MB and 64MB cards? Is it really worth it to spend all that money to get a laptop with a 128MB card than a laptop with a 64MB card? Can any Alienware laptop users tell me the performance of the computer, do its features (like the Extreme cooling system) really help? Is it worth all the money over the Dell Laptops?.Please any information regarding the difference between the Intel Extreme Graphic Card with the other ones and any overall info of the other Graphics card and the Alienware Laptop would be really appreaciated. I'm looking into spending a maximum of $2500 so any info on a laptop under $2000 with a good graphics card and a good performance with the FS2004 or FS2002 would be very helpfulI'm really sorry for the big amount of questions but these are questions that I really need to know the answers of so PLEASE answer this post since I really want to spend my money well!!!Thank You

The first thing most people will say is that you cannot get a good gaming graphics adaptor on a laptop. Although you did specify laptop, I'd recommend against making that your primary flightsim computer. It's fairly closed upgrade path and limited customization options lend itself GREAT for school and business, but not for simming. I'm sure some others will be able to assist on laptop graphic sets. Good luck!-Greg

If you must have a laptop, wait till the ATI 9600 is available for them. Alienware laptops are good but pricey. There desktops are great. Dell makes a good priced laptop. Also read that Toshiba is good. Just stay away from the Compaq, HP, Sony, Gateway, etc.

Thank you for youe helpI know that laptops are not that great for the sim but since I need a laptop for other things I prefer to have a laptop over a deskopt since its easier. Also my uncle has a Dell laptop and he uses the sim on it. I believe he has the Nvidia 64MB card so if a get the Alienware I'm sure the sim would run much better. I still haven't made up my mind and a still have a long way to go to reach the amount of money needed. I need over $2000 to reach my goal. I believe I would go with the Alien Ware but I'm still not sure.Thank you for the info and also if anyone could tell me the difference between the Intel Extreme Graphics Card and the 32MB and 64MB Graphics cards that the Dell laptops would be really appreaciated. I need to see how big is the difference to see if I spend the money on this laptop or in another one. Any help on the other questions I originally asked would also be appreacitatedThank you very much
