After backing up my personal files, what are the steps to take to reformat my hard drive? I've done it before, but don't know where my notes are.Gary

Hi, Gary.It's important that you post what your ultimate goal and OS is. If you want to get another OS with bootable partition, just a data partition, new drive etc.It may be as simple as:Boot up with your Window /bootable floppy, or under ..Start>Run and type: "format d:" or whaever disk /partition you need reformated, for W98SE. Note: After reformat ALL data on that Drive will be lost, in most cases. TV

I have been plagued with lock ups. I believe that I may have competing files and want to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows ME. Now I know that many people have had trouble with ME, but I have not and will want to reinstall it. I do not have multiple virtual drives defined, just the C: drive. Thanks.Gary
