Is there any way to backup all my files to CD's with a continual run similar to what is done on floppys, tapes, or other folders on a hard drive? (Where when one CD is filled, it simply says to insert another).I can do this by copying to the CD's, but I have to calculate the fill for each CD on an individual basis which is a pain in the neck. When I try to do this with WINXP's backup wizard provisions and browse to my CDRW drive, I get an error message: "The backup file name could not be used. "F:xxxx.bkf". Please ensure it is a valid path, and that you have sufficient access."Thanks:RTH

You can use a like Norton Ghost to backup your OS, and make a complete copy of your HDD so that you don't have to reinstall every application over again when windows does its 'death throes' and you format the disk :)

Try Disk Image 2002. Like Fred said, you could use ghost. My dislike of ghot is it's GUI...Or lack thereof. DI 2002 Looks like windows.Bobby

Bobby -Good advice. I had forgotten about DI2002. I didn't know about the lack of a GUI in NG, because I haven't used Ghost before ;-)

Thanks everybody:I have both the CD's Norton SystemWorks 2001, and 2003. 2003 Was for XP as well as earlier verions. Unfortunately, it does not include Norton Ghost. (2001 which gives error messages for XP application does for the complete System Works installation). Do you know whether the the Norton 2001 Ghost can be installed with WinXP?Thanks:RTH

RTH,Maybe this can help answer your question....When trying to install the Symantec Norton Anti-virus 2001 program, you may receive the following error message: Norton AntiVirus 2001Norton Antivirus 2001 has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. The symevent.sys driver installed by this program is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, contact Symantec. When you restart your computer after you install Symantec Norton Anti-virus 2001 and on subsequent restarts, you may receive the following error message: NAV Auto-ProtectUnable to Start SymEvent. CAUSENorton Anti-virus 2001 is not compatible with Windows XP because it was designed to work with specific versions of the Windows operating system. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, contact Symantec to inquire about the availability of an update that addresses this issue.Personally, never liked NSW. Slows machine down unless you have a substantial amount of Ram. Besides, there are much better utilities available today.Hope this helps.Bobby

Bobby:Where do I find Disk Image 2002?By searcing for this name, or "DI2002" I have not found the link yet. I did find Active Disk Image which sounds like an old DOS related program. Thanks:RTH>Try Disk Image 2002. Like Fred said, you could use ghost. My>dislike of ghot is it's GUI...Or lack thereof.
