I am considering the following potential upgrade:Asus P4C800 Deluxe or P4P800 Deluxe MBP4 3.00 800 MHz CPU1G PC3200 DDR400 Mem (two sticks)I have an Asus V8460 NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4600 graphics card. Will this video card be adequate for the above upgrade, or will I be shooting myself in the foot? Thanks:RTH

Yes it should work well. I'd suggest upgrading the video card too if you have the $$. Get a Radeon 9800 Pro or a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra and you'll have a rockin system.

You should have no problem with that upgrade. Pleae note that your video card is fine, and should work well in FS2kX. But if you want to unlock the full potential, get an ATI9500/9700/9800 or (ew, I might add for this next choice, but I will add this choice so you know your options ;-)) get an nVidia FX5900. Any other FX is a waste of money when comparing the equivilently priced ATI card(in some instances when compared to an older version of the nvidia line, like some FX cards vs the GeForce4 'equilvilant'), with the exception of the 9800 vs the 5900. They are both close, real close....Whew, talk about your run ons.....;-)

One last question: (probably)With the latest applications, does anybody know of any decisive advantage to the P4C800 MB over the P4P400 MB? There is a significant differnce in price, but from what I read (i.e. Tom's hardware) they are essentially the same card now.I may try to be patient (doubtful) until the next generation arrives and the prices go down for what I have specified. Thanks:RTH
