Radeon 9800 PRO

Featured Replies

Hi,Just ordered a Radeon 9800 Pro to replace my aging 8500. I was wondering what settings people are running on with this card? Will I be able to set at 1600 x 1200 with AA and AF on?Rest of my system is:Athlon XP2700+Asus A7n8x Deluxe512mb DDR Ram (dual channel mode)Windows XPThanks for any suggestions or tips.Glenn

Hi Glenn,I have my 9800Pro set at 1600*1200, and running both 4*AA and 2*AF, and it's just amazing. As I pos6ed elsewhere, AI (I have UT, so lots of AI) brings it to a stall very quickly, but that's my P4-1.8G, I'm sure. Besides, upgrading from a GeForce3 Ti200, there's no comparison :)Bruce.

Thanks Bruce,Sounds like I will be in for a real treat when it arrives tommorow!Cant wait to install the card.

I've just hooked up my FSD to it with a digital connection using the DVI output. I note that using this method limits the res to 1280*1024, but I'm not usre if that's a DVI limitation, or the monitor limits it to that in DVI mode- or if something else is occuring. However- whatever I may be losing in res (and I can't notice it, although the different settings sure say that I am) is overcome by the combo Sony FSD in DVI mode and this card.Good luck!Bruce.
