Hello everyone, I need your help on this one. My wife was playing with the puter and messed up my video settings. I used to post, not too long ago, screenshots on the screenshot forums and 99% of the time I got perfect results. Now, since she did this I cant get nothing but shimmering, bad textures etc etc. I have been trying all afternoon to fix this but I have no luck. For some reason the planes and texture will look very good on a windowed screen. When I go to 1600x1200 I get awesome results on every view but tower view. This is what I get now: First I got what I call Disco Night at meigs :7 http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/25791.jpgand then I get this:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/25792.jpgI used to get images like the last photo http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/25793.jpgand I have tried everything...6x AA, full screen, windowd, 16x AF...16bit, 32bit etc etc and for some reason I cant go back as when it was before. I have an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro with the latest drivers (just got them last night). Does anyone knows how to be able to go back to fullscreen and get my texture views like when I did before? Next time dont let the wife screw with the settings :-lol Just kidding, if it happened not to long ago, system restore to the day before, install the new drivers again and then see what happens.

LOL Kurt, I wont let her touch my computer anymore!!! j/kWell, thats a good tip, about system restore but to make my problems worst, I disable it a while ago to speed my system up lolI have a 2.66 P4 612Mb Ram. I was playing with the driver and card again this morning abd now I have good graphics when I have all the views but tower view again. It still looks like photo# 2. What else can I do?Thanks for replying back!

Could be something unrelated to your wife's use of the computer. Try renaming the FS2002 main cfg file and then restart the sim. It'll build a new one. You'll have to reset everything in settings/display.

Or, alternatively, uninstall your current drivers(via control panel), run Det Destroyer(www.guru3d.com) and reinstall the current drivers you have if deleting the .cfg file doesn't fix the problem.BTW, that disco thing is kinda neat ;-)

:-xxrotflmaoGuys, guys I fixed it!!!! I kept playing with the settings and found out that if I use massive textures, with my monitor resolution to 1600x1200 full screen and Flight Sim resolution of 1280x1024 32bit, AF to 16x and AA to 4x it will give me what I used to get. No more tower view shimmering, everything is so sharp and nice again, yeeeepeee:-beerchug http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26049.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26052.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26053.jpg

Good news!I would enable system restore though if I was you. The only effect on PC speed is when it actually restores, which takes about 30 seconds in each 24 hour period (by default). Other than the HD space that restore points occupy (not a speed issue if you have ample HD space), there's no performance impact at all, as far as I know. It's saved me once, and is magic for those types of situations that you just had.Bruce.
