Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Boot Issue

Featured Replies

Upgraded FS Computer with subject MB, P4 3GHZ, & two Corsair CM64SD512-3200 512MB DDR400 memory. Problem: during boot recieve two beeps with the following information: American Megatrends, BIOS Rev 1008, CPU P4 3.00GHz, Speed 3.00 GHZ, entering Setup, DDR Freg 400MHz, 1024MB OK, Next message SATA378 BIOS Version 1.00.0.33, No device is found!, BIOS is not installed. I'm not using RAID nor SATA, using the old Pri_IDE & SEC_IDE connectors including new cribbon cable with MB and Seagate HDD, floppy, & CD.My old system before upgrade was: ASUS A7V33, AMD XP 2400, Win XP Home Edition with service pack, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB, Antec Sl400 400W 12V ATX Powe Supply, Seagate HDD 40 GB 7200 RPM ATA100 ST#$0016A/ST340824A, TDK CD-RW, 2ea PNY 32x64 D2700 256MB DDR DIMM 333.I have reviewed the book and made adjustments to BIOs including changes to IDE Conf until my eyes are poping out. Nothing I seem to do helps. Also visited the ASUS sight many times but could not find anything to match my proble. I'm sure I'm over looking some little thing and can't see the trees for all the other stuff.Anyway, any comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Erv Moore KSDFP.S. The real kicker is I ordered these parts before running FS9. My old system did a great job running the sim with Chris Wells & others suggestions. Lessons learned! Think I learned that one before.

Dont worry!! I get them same message at boot everytime and my PC is running ok. Like you I dont use the SATA at present so it aint an issue. I think the beeps however are, looking at the manual, 2 beeps refer to a parity error so check your cpu settings, it might be worth setting up some speakers to see if the vocal post messaging has anything to say during the boot process which may lead to some more clues.good luckcc :)
